ing for levy by the Board of County Commissioners of monies
for repairing dirt, macadam or other permanently improved
roads, the allotment to and expenditure of the same by elec-
tion districts, the expenditures of other road monies; also
providing for a general fund for resurfacing permanently
improved roads, and for the construction of permanently
improved roads, and for a special road levy for the year 1912,
and certain requirements of vouchers for road expenditui'e.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 167A of Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of the State of Maryland, title "Montgomery
County," sub-title "Roads," as the same was enacted by Chap-
ter 133 of the Laws of Maryland of 1898, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:
SEC. 167 A. The Board of County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County shall annually make a general levy of an amount
not exceeding twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per mile for the
repair of the dirt roads in said county, the said amount, when
collected, to be apportioned to the several election districts
according to the mileage of county dirt roads in each of said
election districts, and in computing said election district mile-
age each election district shall be credited with one-half of the
mileage of all county dirt roads constituting boundary lines
between it and other election districts. And said County Com-
missioners shall also annually make a general levy of an amount
not exceeding one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) per
mile for the repairs to macadam or other permanently improved
roads with which the county is charged with the duty and
expense of maintenance, said amount, when collected, to be
apportioned to the several election districts according to the
mileage of such macadam or other permanently improved roads
located in each of such election districts, and in computing said
election district mileage of macadam or other permanently
improved roads, each election district shall be credited with one-
half the mileage of all the macadam or other permanently
improved roads, constituting boundary lines between it and
other election districts. And each of said apportionments for
repairs to dirt roads and for repairs to macadam or other per-
manently improved roads shall be expended wholly upon the
roads within the election districts to which it is apportioned.
Any unexpended or surplus part of such apportionment for the
repairs to dirt roads may be expended for repairs to macadam
