1588 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch. 816]

CHAPTER 816.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments sections 31
and 32 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Washington County," sub-title "Birds and Game," as en-
acted by Chapter 708 of the Acts of 1908.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 31 and 32 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Washington County," sub-title "Birds
and Game," as enacted by Chapter 708 of the Acts of 1908,
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as
follows:

SEC. 31. It shall not be lawful to shoot, kill or in any way
catch or trap, wound or destroy, or shoot from a blind or bait
with any grain or food stuff for the purpose of trapping, shoot-
ing, wounding, killing or destroying any wild birds or wild fowls
of any. description, except hawks, crows, owls, English spar-
rows, wild geese, wild ducks, wild pigeons, jacksnipe, plovers,
cedar birds and rails; and it shall not be lawful to shoot, kill
or in any way catch, or trap, wound or destroy any deer or
fawn, or to put out a deer-lick for the purpose of catching,
trapping, shooting, wounding or killing or destroying any deer
or fawn; and it shall not be lawful for any persons to make
use of what is known as buckshot in hunting deer within this
county, or to kill or wound or attempt to kill or wound any
deer within this county, by or with or through the use of a
gun propelling or emitting more than one pellet, bullet or ball
at such deer through a single discharge; and it shall not be
lawful to shoot, kill or in any way catch or trap, wound or
destroy any doves, woodcock, quail, partridge, Hungarian quail,
pheasants, ruffed grouse, English or Mongolian or ring-necked
pheasants, Chinese or silver pheasants, wild turkeys, rabbits,
squirrels, deer or fawn; provided, however, it shall be lawful
to shoot quail, partridges, Hungarian quail, pheasants, ruffed
grouse, English or Mongolian or ring-necked pheasants, Chinese
or silver pheasants, wild turkeys and rabbits from the 15th day
of November to the 24th day of December, inclusive; and
squirrels from the first day of September to the 24th day of
December, inclusive; doves and woodcock from the 1st day of
August to the 1st day of September, inclusive in each year; but
it shall not be lawful to use ferrets to hunt or kill rabbits at
any time. Any person or persons, agent or corporation, or
officer of a corporation violating any of the provisions of this
section shall be subject to the penalties provided for by section
34 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
