166. That said constables shall hold said office at the pleas-
ure of said county commissioners, and shall be removed, trans-
ferred or assigned or dismissed at the pleasure of said county
commissioners.

367. That the county commissioners aforesaid are hereby
authorized and empowered to annually levy the sum of two
thousand dollars each and every year, and shall pay to said
constables so appointed under the provisions of this act such
sum or sums of money as said commissioners shall deem just
and proper for service performed by said constables.

CRIER.
1908, ch, 31, sec. 67.

168. The crier of the Circuit Court for Montgomery
County shall be entitled to and receive as a salary the sum of
three hundred and sixty dollars per annum, payable in sums
of thirty dollars per month, which shall be in full and lieu
of the allowances now authorized by law, and the Commis-
sioners of Montgomery County are authorized and directed at
their next meeting for making the county levy, and annually
thereafter, to levy on the assessable property in said county for
the use of the crier, such sum of money as shall be sufficient
for the payment of said salary of said crier.

DAMASCUS.
1890, ch. 575, sec. 1.

169. That the citizens of the town of Damascus, in Mont-
gomery county, be and they are hereby constituted a body
corporate by the name of the "Commissioners of Damascus,"
and by that name may sue and be sued and have and use a
common seal.

170. That the corporate limits of said town shall be as
follows: Beginning at the north side of the public road lead-
ing from Damascus to Etchison at the southeast corner of
Levi W. Pearce's lot, and running with the division line between
the lands of Levi W. Peace and William H. Bowman, north
to the lot of John Lyles; thence with the dividing line between
the lands of John Lyles and William H. Bowman to the land
of Oliver Watkins; thence west with the dividing line between
the lands of John Lyles and Oliver Watkins to the lands of
Jason P. Warthen; thence north with the dividing line between
the lands of Oliver Watkins and Jason P. Warthen to the
land's of N. J. Burdett; thence west with the dividing line
