except the president, who shall receive the fees herienafter
allowed.

60. That the three commissioners elected shall choose one
of their number as president, and all vacancies in the Board
of Commissioners shall be filled by an election to be held after
ten days' notice given by the remaining commissioners.

sec. 5.
61. That the commissioners shall meet in some convenient
place in said town on or before the first Monday in June next
succeeding their election, and as often thereafter as may be
necessary, to discharge the duties of their office.

62. That the commissioners shall every two years, on or
before the first Monday in April, appoint three judges of elec-
tion, who shall conduct the election according to the election
laws of this State, except that the polls shall be opened at two
o'clock P. M. and closed at six o'clock P. M.; and the judges
and clerk shall make their returns to the commissioners, but
shall receive no compensation for their services; if either of
the judges should be absent on the day appointed for said
election, the vacancy or vacancies shall be filled by the judge
or judges present.

63. That the commissioners shall annually appoint a clerk
who shall keep the minutes of their proceedings in a well-
bound book which shall be open to the inspection of all per-
sons interested therein, and shall perform such other duties as
the commissioners shall assign him to.

64. That the commissoners shall also appoint a bailiff and
such number of under bailiffs as they may deem necessary.

65. That the commissioners shall allow the clerk, chief
bailiff and under bailiffs such compensation as they may think
proper.

66. That the commissioners and all other officers of the
corporation shall before they enter upon the duties of their
offices make oath that they will diligently and faithfully, with-
out prejudice, partiality or favor, perform the duties of their
respective offices, and shall file a certificate thereof signed by
the justice of the peace or other officer before whom said oath
was taken among the records of the corporation.

67. That the clerk and the chief bailiff shall give bond to
the commissoners in such penalties and with such sureties as
said commissioners may require, conditioned for the faithful
performance of the duties of their respective offices.
