1912, in the event that such bonds are sold after that date. The
said Commissioners of Hurlock may advertise such bonds for
such length of time as in their discretion will give adequate
notice to the public, and the proceeds of sale of said bonds shall
be kept as a separate fund by the Commissioners of Hurlock, as
well as the taxes collected for the payment of interest and prin-
cipal on the same.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the Commissioners of Hur-
lock are hereby authorized, empowered and required to levy
annually upon the assessable property of the Town of Hurlock,
a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds by them to be
issued in pursuance of this act, and are authorized, empowered
and required to levy annually upon the assessable property of
said town a tax sufficient to pay the principal of said bonds as
they respectively mature and fall due, provided, that all taxes
levied for meeting the principal of said bonds at maturity shall
be safely invested with real estate security; or shall be depos-
ited in some national bank or trust company in Dorchester
county, in the savings department of such institution or institu-
tions, at the best rate of interest that is obtainable, provided
that the deposit in such an institution is considered safe and
secure. The tax hereby authorized is for the special purpose
herein stated and is in addition to the tax levied for general
purposes as authorized by the Charter of the Town of Hurlock.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the work of constructing a
sewerage system with a disposal plant in connection therewith,
if the said commission shall consider the same to be essential,
shall be the primary purpose for which the bonds herein author-
ized are to be issued, and only the surplus, if any, of such bond
issue, after the construction and establishment of a sewerage
system, is to be used for road or street improvement. The afore-
said work shall be done by The Commissioners of Hurlock,
through the agency of a commission to be known as the Hurlock
Sewerage Commission, the members of which shall serve with-
out pay and shall be composed of three citizens, namely, Wil-
liam C. Bradley, Thomas I. Wright, Joseph V. Andrews, Jas-
per L. Thompson and Greenbury T. Bell, and in case of a
vacancy or vacancies in the said commission, caused by death,
removal, resignation, refusal to serve, then such vacancy or
vacancies shall be filled by appointment or appointments by the
Commissioners of Hurlock.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the said commission shall
elect one of its five members as chairman and another as secre-
tary and shall have full power and authority to determine by a
majority vote all questions connected with the construction of a
