1244 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Ch. 747]

shall annually levy upon the assessable property of the town
of Easton a tax sufficient to pay each and every bond as it
matures and the interest on all bonds issued under this act,
outstanding and unpaid, and the amount of said tax shall be
separately kept by the Mayor and Council of Easton, and desig-
nated as the Easton Street Improvement Fund of 1912.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and Council of
Easton are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow on the
faith and credit of the town of Easton, upon a promissory note
or notes of the Mayor and Council, the sum of five thousand
dollars ($5,000) or so much thereof as may be necessary for
the purpose of making the pipe connections which are required
by sec. 18, Ch. 117 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1910, from the gas and water mains to the inside curb
line of every lot abutting on the streets to be paved; provided
that nothing herein contained shall prejudice or abridge any
right of the Mayor and Council of Easton to enforce the provi-
sions of any ordinance now existing, or which may hereafter
exist, fixing the liability for the cost of enforcing the provisions
of sect. 18 of Chapter 117 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1910; or to collect from whomsoever may be
liable any sums which may be expended by the Mayor and
Council of Easton for the performance of such work.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Easton Street Improve-
ment Commission be and they are hereby authorized and em-
powered to build, grade and construct with any surplus which
there may be remaining in the Easton Street Improvement
Fund, after they shall have built, graded and constructed, or
made provision for the streets named in section 1 of Chapter
117 of the Acts of 1910, as aforesaid, and the storm sewers
as herein provided for in section 1, such other streets as the
said Easton Street Improvement Commission shall determine.
And the provisions of Chapter 117, aforesaid, of the Acts of
1910, with regard to assessing one-fourth of the cost of said
street construction upon the abutting property owners, and
all other provisions of said act, not inconsistent herewith, shall
apply to this act.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That such streets or parts of
streets as may be built, under the provisions of this act and
of Chapter 117 of the Acts of 1910, aforesaid, the order in
which same are built and the manner and method of their con-
struction shall be entirely within the discretion of the Easton
Street .Improvement Commission.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That any provisions of the char-
ter of Easton contrary to the intent and purposes of this act,
