PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, ESQ., GOVERNOR. 1239'

Manufacturing Company as defined and set out in section 1 of
Chapter 267 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1902, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Patapsco Electric
and Manufacturing Company," be and the same are hereby
enlarged, and said section in so far as it relates to the corporate
powers of said company is hereby amended so as to read as
follows:

SEC. 1. That said body corporate under the name and style
of the Patapsco Electric and Manufacturing Company, shall
have perpetual succession, and shall be capable to sue and be
sued, to plead and to be impleaded, and to complain or defend
in any court of law or equity; to make and use a common seal
and alter the same at pleasure; to receive and make deeds, leases
and mortgages; to acquire by purchase or in any other manner
take, receive, hold, use, employ, manage, dispose of, mortgages,
or in any manner not inconsistent with law, deal in and con-
tract in regard to any water rights, property, real or personal,
or mixed, situate in or out of this State, which may be necessary
or proper to enable said corporation to carry out its operations-
or fulfill the purposes named in this act; to .apply for, purchase
or in any manner acquire, hold, use, own, work or operate or
sell or in any manner acquire, hold, use, own, work or operate
or sell or in any manner dispose of any patents, inventions,
improvements or processes relating to the business authorized
by this charter; also, to enter into, make, perform and enforce
contracts of every kind, with any person, firm, association or
corporation with reference to the business authorized under the
terms of this charter, and generally to do every other act or
thing not inconsistent with law, which in the discretion of its
board of directors may be necessary or proper to promote the
objects, designs and purposes for which this corporation is
formed, which are hereby declared to be for the purpose of
manufacturing and selling electricity for illuminating purposes,
for heat, for power and for all other purposes to which elec-
tricity or magnetism may be applied, and for the further pur-
pose of manufacturing, buying, selling, dealing in and furnish-
ing all kinds of machinery and supplies used in and incident to
a general electrical business and the conduct thereof; and the
said corporation is hereby authorized and empowered to pur-
chase or construct or to string or build pole lines, conduits,,
along, upon or over any streets, lanes, alleys, turnpikes, roads,
waters and ways whatsoever, provided that said construction
where within the limits of any incorporated city or town shall
be done under consent the supervision of the mayor and town
council thereof, and when within the limits of Baltimore City
