except those selected in the manner hereinafter prescribed.
Primary elections shall be held for such nominations upon the
second Tuesday in June in the wards from with commissioners
are to be elected on "the second Wednesday of July following,
and the judges appointed for the general election shall be the
judges for the primary election and shall qualify for such
primary election and be subject in respect to the primary elec-
tion to the provisions of section 48 of this article.
Any person desiring to become a candidate for commissioner
or any other elective officer under this charter shall, at least ten
days before said primary election file with the town clerk a
statement of such candidacy in substantially the .following form,
to wit:
Candidate for Nomination for—————————————.
State of Maryland, Dorchester County, to wit: I, —————-
—————, being first sworn, say that I reside at—————————
street, City of Cambridge, county of Dorchester, State of Mary-
land, that I am a qualified voter therein; that I am a candidate
for the office of ————————, to be———————— voted upon
at the primary election to be held on the —————— day of
————————, 19——, and I hereby request my name be
printed upon the official primary ballot for a nomination by
such primary election for such office.

Subscribed and sworn to (or affirmed) before me this —————
day of————————, 19——.
And shall at the same time deposit with the town clerk the sum
of $5.00 which sum shall be paid over to the Commissioners of
Cambridge for the purpose of defraying in whole or in part
the expenses of such election.
Immediately upon the expiration of the time for filing such
statements of candidacy the town clerk shall cause to be adver-
tised in two newspapers published in Cambridge, one of which
shall be a daily newspaper, if there be a daily newspaper pub-
lished in said town, the names of the persons who have filed
proper statements of their candidacy and have deposited the
filing fee of $5.00 as hereinbefore provided, designating the
office for which such person is a candidate and the ward in
which such person is a candidate if the office is one to be filled
by the voters of a single ward, and if the office is one to be filled
by the voters of the entire town, voting by wards, the said
advertisement shall so state. The town clerk shall at least two
days prior to the date of said town election prepare the ballots
for such primary elections, which ballots shall be authenticated
