not exceeding $3.00 per day, for such services as the Commis-
sioners shall prescribe, either by order passed at the time of
appointment or by ordinance.

The said registration shall specify the name, age, color and
the residence of the voters on each street, lane or alley of the
town, and for this purpose the commissioners shall provide the
necessary registration books, one for each ward, suitable for
said purpose, and after the registration is completed the said
books shall be returned by the said officers of registration to
the town clerk, who shall safely keep and preserve them; and
in every second year after the year 1912, in the month of June,
and on the second Tuesday of said month and the Wednesday
following the said Tuesday, in said month, the clerk shall sit
as an officer of registration, in the Council Chamber or in some
other public and convenient place, for the purpose of revising
such registry for the words in which any or special election
shall be held for said year, and of transferring voters from one
ward to the other, in case such voters have changed their resi-
dence, and also for the purpose of adding the names of new
and qualified voters to the list of registration, and of striking
off from said registry the names of voters known to be dead or
proved to be dead to his satisfaction, or who are known to have
changed their place of residence by removal from the Town of
Cambridge or by removing from one ward to the other, or
names of persons whose removal as aforesaid is proved to the,
satisfaction of said officer. The Commissioners of Cambridge
shall cause due advertisement of such registration, as well as
of the sittings of the town clerk as an officer of registration for
the purposes hereinbefore specified by advertisement inserted
in at least two newspapers published in the Town of Cambridge
stating the time and place of such registration and the wards
in which same shall be held. Such officers of registration and
said town clerk when sitting as an officer of registration shall
have during the appointed time of their respective sitting, in
addition to the duties and authority hereinbefore given them,
such powers as are conferred on officers of registration by sec-
tion 15 of Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland.

Primary Elections.

45B. Candidates to be voted for at all elections for com-
missioners or for any other elective office under this charter
shall be nominated by a primary election, and no other name
shall be placed upon the official ballot in any general election
