Chapter 329 of the Acts of 1904, be and the same are hereby
repealed, and that section 270M, 270Q, 270S, 270V, 270CC,
270OO, 270MM, 270SS, 270XX, 270YY, 270MMM, 270ppp,
270SSSS, 270WWWW and 270CCCCC of said article of said Code
as the same were enacted by Chapter 2 of the Acts of 1898,
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, and that sections 270c, 270D, 270F, 270H, 270FF,
270HH, 270II, 270JJ, 270LL, 270NNN, 270000, 270QQQ,
270RRR, 270BBBBB of said article of said Code as the same were
enacted by said Chapter 2 of the Acts of 1898, be and the same
are hereby repealed, and that section 225 of said article of
said Code be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
and that sections 175, 177, 179, 184, 189 and 244 of said article
of said Code be and the same are hereby repealed, and that
section- 172 of said article of said Code as the same was enacted
by Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1898 be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, and that sections 171 and 178 of said
article of said Code as the same were enacted by Chapter 1 of
the Acts of 1898, be and the same are hereby repealed, and
that the following new and additional sections to be known
as sections 271, 272, 273, 274, 275, 276, 277, 278, 279, 280,
281, 282, 283, 284, 285, 286, 287, 288, 289, 290, 291,
292, 293, 294, 295, 296, 297, 298 and 299 be enacted so as
to read as follows:
SEC. 157. On the second Tuesday in June of the year 1913
and on the same day in every fourth year thereafter, the
duly qualified voters of Frederick City shall elect a mayor
and two aldermen for the city in the manner following, namely:
The city shall be divided into four voting precincts the outlines
of which shall be as laid off and designated in Chapter 204
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at its
session in the year 1872 (so far as the same applied to Fred-
erick City), and the said qualified voters of said city shall vote
at their respective polls for a mayor and for two aldermen,
all of which officials shall be voted for at large by the voters
of the entire city.
SEC. 174. The term of the office of the mayor and alder-
men elected at the regular election shall begin on the first Mon-
day next after their election, on which day their first meeting
shall be held, and shall continue in office until their successors
in office are duly elected and qualified.
SEC. 180. No person shall be city register of said city
unless he be at the time of his appointment a resident of Fred-
erick City, and a qualified voter therein. The City Register
shall also be collector of taxes for said city. At the beginning
