and bridges in Howard county. He shall appear before the
said County Commissioners at their first meeting in each and
every month and make a statement as to the work done and
money expended. He shall examine and certify to the correct-
ness of all building of said roads and bridges, and accounts of
work done and materials furnished on any and all of the
public roads and bridges of Howard county before the same
shall be paid by the said County Commissioners, and the said
County Commissioners shall make no payment until such
accounts have been certified to by the said County Road Super-
intendent. He shall report annually in writing to the County
Commissioners, giving a detailed account of all work done and
materials purchased, labor employed, together with the names
of all persons working on said roads and bridges, and the
amount paid to or to be paid for work and labor, and giving
other detailed information pertinent to the building, construc-
tion and maintenance of roads during the twelve months pre-
ceding. Said report shall be filed on or before the first day
of May, 1913, and the first day of May in each succeeding
year thereafter. The said County Road Superintendent shall
not be interested directly or indirectly in any firm or corpora-
tion from which any materials or other things have been pur-
chased for or in the name of the said County Commissioners
of Howard county, or shall he receive any commission on such
purchases, or shall he receive any gift from any corporation or
person other than the salary paid him by the said County ft
Commissioners of Howard county.
SEC. 119F-1. The said County Commissioners shall appoint
District Road Superintendents in the several election districts
of said county, as now constituted, who shall be paid such
wages or salary as the said County Commissioners may pre-
scribe; and it shall be the duty of said District Road Super-
intendents to work and take charge of and manage the work on
the public roads and bridges in the district for which he or
they are appointed, subject to the control and direction of the
County Road Superintendent, and he or they shall perform such
other duties as the said County Road Superintendent may pre-
scribe by the directions of the said County Commissioners.
And the said County Commissioners shall cause the District
Superintendents to perform their duties between the first day
of April and the first day of December in each and every year.
SEC. 119G-1. The County Commissioners of Howard county
shall have control and supervision of purchasing all materials
to be used in the building, construction and maintaining roads
in Howard county; provided, however, that the County Road
