A careful study of the above statement will be found both
interesting and instructive, stating clearly as it does the in-
creased valuation by counties and the city of Baltimore for
the past 44 years. T3ie State, as a whole, has practically
doubled its basis within that period, the city of Baltimore
having increased 108 per cent., while the; largest increase in
any county is shown, by Caroline, 163 per cent.
