The General Assembly of Maryland :

I respectfully submit to you my report of the condition and
of the operations of the Treasury Department for the fiscal year
ending on September 30, 1889.

RECEIPTS.

The total revenue received into the Treasury during the fiscal
year was $2,067,343.71, and the balance in the Treasury Septem-
ber 30, 1888, was 8532,069.46, making the total amount in the
Treasury during the fiscal year $2,599,413.17.

The amount of receipts in the Treasury for 1889 exceeds that
of the year 1888 by $57,283.47. The receipts in detail are given
in "Statement A," appended to this report.

DISBURSEMENTS.

The total disbursements during the fiscal year 1889 were
$2,188,686.16, being greater than the disbursements of the pre-
vious year, 1888, by the sum of $98,625.92. The disbursements
in detail appear in " Statement B " of this report.

The balance in the Treasury at the end of the fiscal year was
$490,727.01.

ESTIMATES.

The estimates of receipts for the next fiscal year are detailed
in "Statement C," amounting in the aggregate to $1,900,276.84,
which, if realized and added to the balance in the Treasury 30th
