"Table No. 4" shows in detail the receipts into the
Treasury from Licenses to Auctioneers and Express Com-
panies amounting to $3,404.75 in the aggregate.
"Table No. 5" exhibits in detail the revenue receipts
into the Treasury from tax on. gross receipts of Railroad
companies, operating their lines by steam power, for
the year 1888, amounting in the aggregate to $58,455.40,
showing an increase of such receipts over those of 188T
of $6,022.17.
"Table No. 6" shows the several receipts into the
Treasury for the fiscal year 1888, from State tax on stock
of the State of Maryland and City of Baltimore, amount-
ing to $48,269.67.
. "Table No. 7" shows the receipts into the Treasury
for the year 1888, from State tax on the shares of stock
of Corporations, returned by the State Tax Commissioner,
amounting to $73,553.98.
STATE TOBACCO INSPECTIONS.
"Table No. 8" shows the receipts during the fiscal
year 1888, from State Tobacco Inspections, and the dis-
bursements during the name time, for and on account
of the State Tobacco Warehouses. The receipts were
in aggregate $82,414.70, and the disbursements $74,365.35,
showing net receipts to the amount of $8,049.35, which
added to the balance to the credit of tobacco inspec-
tions at the close of the fiscal year 1887, viz: $5,672.56r
made a total of $13,721.91. The salaries paid during
the fiscal year to Inspectors at the State Tobacco Ware-
houses amounted to $8,550.00.
"Table No. 9" shows receipts for 1888, from the Land
Office, State Hay Scales, State Live Stock Qcales, Stater
Wharves and Weighers of Grain, amounting to an ag-
gregate of $7,413.33.
"Table No. 10'' shows in Retail the amounts of interest
received on various accounts therein mentioned, show-
ing an aggregate of $6,016.80.
"Table No. 11" exhibits in detail the receipts from
