Statement "A," in the appendix to this report, exhibits in
detail, the several sources from which this amount of revenue
has been derived.
DISBURSEMENTS.
The total disbursements during the fiscal year, amounted to
$2,276,906.35. Of this aggregate, the sum of $110,832.00 was
invested under the Acts of 1864, chapter 90, and 1872, chap-
ter 415, for the Maryland Agricultural College, the sum of
$125,000.00 was paid under the Act of 1874, chapter 42, to the
proper officers of the Deaf and Dumb Asylum at Frederick,
and the sum of $111,000.00 was paid under the Act of 1868,
chapter 454, for Southern Maryland Rail Roads, leaving the
amount disbursed for the ordinary expenses of the State Gov-
ernment to be $1,930,074.30.
The balance in the Treasury at the close of the fiscal year
was $565,106.59.
The several items of expenditure, and the Acts of Assembly
under which the same were made, are given in detail in state-
ment " B " of the appendix.
ESTIMATES.
The probable receipts into the Treasury, during the current
fiscal year are estimated in statement " C," at $2,413,539.28,
including $100,000.00 for the proceeds of the bonds issued for
the " State Normal School " under chapter 469, of 1874, and
$260,000.00 for those for the " Maryland House of Correction "
under chapter 233, of 1874, leaving the estimates of receipts
from ordinary sources during the current fiscal years to be
$2,053,539.28.
The total estimates for the current fiscal year, added to the
balance in the Treasury, 30th September, 1874, make the en-
tire estimated amount in the Treasury during the current fiscal
year to be $2,978,645.87.
The estimates for expenditures for the same period, are put
down in. detail in statement " D," at $2,030,400.00, including
$100,000.00 for the " State Normal School," and $250,000.00
for the " Maryland House of Correction."
