SEC. 4. Be it enacted, That in case Caroline county

shall refuse or neglect to purchase the Choptank Bridge,

the Choptank Bridge Company, then it shall he lawful

for the levy court of said county, at their discretion, to

contract with the President and Directors of the Chop-

tank Bridge Company, or the purchaser or purchasers
|
 
|
of the same, for such sum as they may agree upon to
|
 
|
make the bridge free to the inhabitants of the county,
|
 
|
and the levy court of Caroline, county are hereby au-
|
 
|
thorised and required to levy upon the assessable pro-
|

perty of said county, a sufficient sum, clear of charges,

|
to make good the same.
|
 
|
SEC. 5. Be it enacted, That in case Talbot county
|

shall refuse or neglect to purchase the Choptank

rectors of the Choptank Bridge Company, then it shall

be lawful for the commissioners for said county, at their

tors of the Choptank Bridge Company, or the purcha-
|
 
|
ser or purchasers of the same, for such sum of money
|
 
|
as they may agree upon to make the passage of said
|
 
|
bridge free to the inhabitants of the said county, and
|
 
|
the commissioners for Talbot county are hereby autho-
|
 
|
rised and required to levy, upon the assessable proper-
|

to make good the same.

SEC. 6. Be it enacted, That if the President and Di-

rectors shall make sale of the Choptank Bridge, at

Dover Ferry, they shall proceed, as soon as conveni-
|
 
|
ently may be thereafter, to close the concern, and pay
|
 
|
over to each stockholder or his legal representatives,
|
 
|
his or their just proportion of all funds of said compa-
|
 
|
ny.
|
 
|
SEC. 7. Be it enacted, That all laws, inconsistent
|

with or repugnant to the provisions of this act, are
|
 
|
hereby repealed and made null and void.
