CHAP. 360.

 

Passed June 1,1836

An act to confirm and make valid a deed of conveyance,

 

from William H. Barroll, and wife of James Deford,

 

of Kent County.

Deed confirmed, &c

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

That the deed executed on the sixteenth day of Febua-

 

ry eighteen hundred and thirty-six, in Queens county,

 

in the State of New York, by William H. Ban-oil and

 

Rebecca I. Barroll, his wife, conveying to James De-

 

ford, of Kent county, and his heirs and assigns, part

 

of a lot of land in Chester town, known and distin-

 

guished on the plot of said town as number ten, ac-

 

knowledged before and certified by Thomas B. Jack-

 

son, judge of Queens county court, and upon which is

 

endorsed a certificate of Pierport Potter, deputy clerk

 

of Queens county, of the qualification of said judge,

 

under the seal of said county, be, and the same is

 

hereby confirmed and made as valid and effectual in

 

law for all purposes whatsoever, as if the said certifi-

 

cate of the qualification of the said judge by the said

 

deputy clerk, had been made and signed by the clerk

 

of Queens county court aforesaid, according to all the

 

requirements of the laws of this State.

 

CHAPTER 360.

Passed June 2, 1836

An act to authorise the Clerk of Baltimore County

 

Court to record a deed therein mentioned.

Record directed, &c

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

That the clerk of Baltimore comity court, be and is

 

hereby authorised to record a deed of manumission

 

from Frederick Steer to negro Margaret, bearing date

 

the fifteenth of March, one thousand eight hundred and

 

thirty-six, and that the deed when so recorded shall be

 

good and Valid, any law of this State to the contrary

 

notwithstanding.
