CHAP. 6.

be, and they are hereby authorised, empowered and required to pay out of the school fund of said county, now deposited in the Branch of the Farmes' Bank of Maryland, at Easton, to such persons respectively, as may have been employed as Teachers in the several School districts of said county, since the first day of July last, such sum or sums of money as the said Commissioners shall adjudge the said Teaches entitled to recerve for their services.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the aforesaid fund shall he found to be insufficient for the purposes herein named, then and in that case, the Commissioners before named, are hereby authorised and required at their discretion, to levy upon said county, and cause to be collected by the county collector, such sum of money as they may adjudge necessary f to supply such deficiency.

An Act to change the name of Thomas Nicholson, of Baltimore city, to that of Thomas Gould.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the name of Thomas Nicholson, of Baltimore city, be and the same is hereby changed and altered unto that of Thomas Gould; and it shall and may be lawful for the said Thomas Nicholson at all times hereafter, to be called and known by, and hold and use the name of, Thomas Gould, and by that name to sue and be sued in any court of law or equity.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all securities, promises, contracts, assurances, deeds and lawful acts whatsoever, heretofore made or done, or hereafter to be made by or to the said Thomas Nicholson, by the name of Thomas Gould, shall be of full force and effect, any law or usage to the contrary notwithstand-ing.
