or owners, or some of them, of the land or other pro-

perty to be condemned, or to the agent or agents of

 

such owner or owners, or some of them, or to the occu-

 

pant of such land, and in case such owner or owners

 

shall not be residents of this State, and there be no

 

agent of the same, known to he such to the, said corpo-

 

ration, it shall be sufficient to put up such notice at the

 

court house of the county where the land lies.

 

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall not

have any force as a declaratory law, or in other res-

 

pects, unless the same be accepted within ninety days

 

from" the passage of this act, by the stockholders of said

 

corporation, owning a majority of the stock, at a meet-

 

Ing of the stockholders convened, on ten days' notice

 

published in at least two newspapers of the city of

 

Baltimore; upon which acceptance this act shall to

 

every effect be deemed a part of the charter of said

 

corporation, and of the act to which this is a supple

 

ment, and said acceptance shall be testified by the cer-

 

tificate of said corporation, signed by the president and

 

directors thereof, and under the seal of said corpora-

 

tion, and transmitted to the Governor and Council, to

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Incorporated

Maryland, That John H. Alexander and Philip T.

 

Tyson, and such other persons as may hereafter be-

 

come associated with them in the manner herein pro-

 

vided, shall be and they are hereby incorporated and

 

made a body politic and corporate, by the name of the

 

George's Creek Mining Company, and by that name

shall have succession, and shall be able to sue and be

 

sued, plead and be impleaded, and to make and use a com-

 

mon seal and the same to alter and renew at pleasure:

 

And the said company shall have full power and au-

 

thority to open and work such mines of coal, iron and
