twenty-three, chapter one hundred and eighty-eight.

Collect fines
|
SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the commanding
|
 
|
officer of each of said divisions, shall on or before the
|
 
|
first day of June next, and from time to time thereaf-
|
 
|
ter, as may be necessary, appoint some suitable person
|
 
|
to collect all fines imposed on the officers, non-com-
|
 
|
missioned officers, musicians or privates of said divi-
|
 
|
sion, under the provisions of the act of eighteen hun-
|
 
|
dred and twenty-three, chapter one hundred and eigh-
|
 
|
ty-eight, or of the supplements thereto, or under the
|
Collector to give bond
|
provisions of this act, which said collector before en-
|
 
|
tering upon the duties of his office, shall be required to
|
 
|
give bond with security, to the State of Maryland, in
|
 
|
such sum as the commanding officer of the division
|
 
|
shall require, conditioned for the faithful performance
|
 
|
of the duties of collector of fines of. said division, und
|
 
|
it shall be the duty of all officers of the division to
|
 
|
whom returns are made by any courts, within ten days
|

after receiving lists of fines from courts of appeal or
|
 
|
from courts martial, to place a copy of said lists of
|
 
|
fines in the hands of the said division collector, to he
|
 
|
by him collected as hereinafter provided, and to take
|
 
|
his receipt for said list or a duplicate of the same, and

the said collector shall account for the monies collect-
|
 
|
ed by him and pay over the same, when thereunto re-
|
 
|
quired, to the division paymaster subject to such de-
|

ductions for commissions, and under such other regu-
|
 
|
lations as may have been established by the command-

ing officer of the division; and if any officer shall neg-
|
 
|
lect or refuse to comply with any of the provisions of
|
 
|
this section, as required of him, he shall be fined a sum
|
 
|
of money not exceeding fifty dollars, in the discretion
|
 
|
of such court martial, as the case may require.

|
SEC. 14. And be it enacted. That upon the recom-
|
 
|
mendation of the Major Generals respectively, there
|
 
|
shall be commissioned in each of the aforesaid divisions,
|

all fines collected in either of the said divisions shall be
