An Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Methodist Epis-

|
copal Church at Buckstown, in Dorchester county.
|
Preamble
|
WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
|
 
|
bly by the petition of sundry citizens of Dorchester
|
 
|
county, setting forth that, the members of the Methodist
|
 
|
Episcopal Church, at Buckstown, have elected, viz:
|
 
|
Samuel Cook, Richard Pattison, Aaron Cook, Benja-
|
 
|
min T. Griffith and Samuel Hurst, Trustees of said
|
 
|
church, and the former trustees dying without keeping
|
 
|
up a regular succession thereto, and whereas, doubts
|
 
|
have arisen as to the legality of said appointments un-
|
 
|
der the act of Assembly, passed at November session,
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and two, chapter one hundred and
|
 
|
eleven, relating to Christian Churches in this State,
|
 
|
and being desirous to perpetuate and make valid the
|
 
|
proceedings of the said church, — Therefore:
|
Trustees named and incorporated
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
 
|
That Samuel Cook, Richard Pattison, Aaron Cook,
|
 
|
Benjamin T. Griffith and Samuel Hurst, are hereby in-
|
 
|
corporated Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church
|
 
|
at Buckstown, in Dorchester county, who, and their
|
 
|
successors, as provided in said act of eighteen hundred
|
 
|
and two, chapter one hundred and eleven, shall have
|
 
|
perpetual succession in law, fact and name to all intents
|
 
|
and purposes whatsoever.

An act, to alter and change the name of Thomas Daw-
|
 
|
son, of Dorchester county, to the name of Thomas
|
 
|
McKinzie.
|
Name changed
|
Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of Maryland,
|
 
|
That from and after the passage of this act the name of
|
 
|
Thomas Dawson, infant son of Sovern Dawson, be and
|
 
|
the same is hereby altered and changed to that of
|
 
|
Thomas McKenzie, agreeable to the last will and tes-
|
 
|
tament of William McKenzie, his grandfather, and it
