CHAP. 283

ry for the safety of said property or for the benefit of

 

said church, the said body corporate shall be capable of

 

purchasing hereafter real and personal property, not

 

exceeding in value ten thousand dollars, current money.

Deed, &c to be

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That all acts or deeds

authenticated

of the said body corporate, shall be signed by the

 

president in behalf of said body corporate, and sealed

 

with the corporate seal, and all deeds for the convey-

 

ance of lands, tenements and hereditaments of said body

 

corporate, which by the law of the land ought to be

 

acknowledged and recorded, shall be signed and seal-

 

ed as aforesaid, and shall also be acknowledged in due

 

form by the president, as such in behalf of said body

 

corporate, and all acts or deeds of the said body cor-

 

porate so authenticated, shall be valid and effectual in

 

law.

 

CHAPTER 283.

Passed Mar.25,1836

B A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to alter and

 

amend a road in Harford and Baltimore counties,

 

from the upper cross roads in Harford county, to Bal-

 

timore city, passed at December session, eighteen

 

hundred and thirty-four, chapter one hundred and

 

twenty -three.

 

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-

 

bly, that there is some doubt existing in the minds of

 

the commissioners of Baltimore and Harford counties,

 

as regards the amount to be levied on each county re-

 

spectively, for the purpose of opening the road men-

 

tioned in the act to which this is a supplement: — There-

 

fore,

Commissioners to

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

assess

That the commissioners of Baltimore county, be and

 

they are hereby authorised and required to levy on the

 

assessable property of said county, any sum which may

 

have been ascertained by the commissioners appointed

 

by the act to which this is a supplement, or the amount

 

of damages that have been sustained by any person or

 

persons in Baltimore county, through whose land the
