commissioners of the town of Cambridge, in Dorches-

ter county, to appoint Joseph E. Muse, Thomas White,

Thomas Breerwood, Thomas Woolford and Jeremiah

C. Wright, or a majority of them, commissioners,
|
 
|
whose duty it shall be to. examine the condition of the
|
 
|
mouth of Cambridge creek, and to ascertain and re-
|
 
|
port in writing, as early as convenient after their ap-
|
 
|
pointment, to the commissioners of the town of Cam-
|
 
|
bridge, whether or not the dam or causeway of the
|
 
|
mill, erected at the mouth of the said creek, has a
|
 
|
lock or passage gate sufficient for the ingress and
|
 
|
egress of such boats as are contemplated by the law,
|
 
|
entitled, an act to provide for the valuation and con-
|
 
|
demnation of water, at the mouth of Cambridge creek,
|
 
|
in Dorchester county, for the erection and establish-
|

ment of a tide mill; and also to ascertain and report to
|
 
|
the said commissioners, whether or not, the mill erect-
|
 
|
ed at or near the mouth of the said creek, has become
|
 
|
useless.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said Joseph
|

E. Muse, Thomas White, Thomas Breerwood, Thomas

Woolford and Jeremiah C. Wright, or a majority of
|
 
|
them, shall report as aforesaid, to the commissioners
|
 
|
of the town of Cambridge, that the said lock or passage
|
 
|
gate is not sufficient for the purposes contemplated by
|
 
|
the aforesaid act, or that the said mill has become use-
|
 
|
less, then the commissioners of the said town of Cam-
|
 
|
bridge, are hereby authorised to have removed from the
|
 
|
mouth, and any other part of the said creek, any and
|
 
|
all obstructions which now or may hereafter exist.
