SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the shares of capi-

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That George W. Purnell, Peter Whaley,

 

John Fassett, Sen. William Showell, John Mitchell,

 

John C. Derickson, Levi Cathell, James Fooks, of

 

Daniel, Levin Irving Jonathan L. Parsons, Charles

 

Parker, Isaac Victor, John Dall, Teagle Townsend,

 

John Bacon, Isaac S. Johnson, Littleton Bonun, Jesse

 

Jones, Joseph Hutcheson, Thomas R. Rounds, Peter

 

Dickerson, George Bishop, John U. Dennis, John O.

 

Selby and David R. Hopkins, be, and they are hereby

 

appointed commissioners, and they or a majority of

them, if and whenever they or a majority of them

chase a farm

within the space of two years from the date of the pas-

 

sage of this act, shall deem it expedient and for the

 

interest of the inhabitants of Worcester county, and

 

the comfort of the poor, to contract for and purchase a

 

farm or tract of land, not exceeding five hundred acres,

 

in the name of the trustees of the poor of said county,

 

and for them and their successors, to have and to hold

 

the same in trust for the use of Worcester county; and

 

the said commissioners, or a majority of them, are

 

hereby authorised to erect thereon, at their discretion,
