An act for the compensation of the Constables of Anne
|
 
|
Arundel County.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Salary of $25 annually
|
Maryland, That there shall be paid to each of the
|
 
|
constables in and for the said county the sum annually
|
 
|
of twenty five dollars, in consideration of the services
|
 
|
which they are required to render by the acts of As-
|
 
|
rembly for which no fees of office are now fixed by law,
|
 
|
which said sum the commissioners of the said county,
|
 
|
are hereby required to assess and levy on the said
|

county, at the time when they shall make the levy for

the other expenses of said county; Provided, that it

shall and may be lawful for the said commissioners or

a majority of them to refuse to pay, and to retain for

the use of the said county, the said sum in any case in

which it shall appear to them that the constable other-

wise entitled to receive the same, has been negligent or

remiss in the performance of his duties as such.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-

ties required of them, and for which the fees are spe-

cifically set forth.
