SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Officers &c. prohibi-ted dealing in

Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,

tobacco

it shall not be lawful for any person or persons employ-

 

ed as clerks or labourers in the States Tobacco In-

 

spection Warehouses in the city of Baltimore, to pur-

 

chase or sell, or in any manner whatever to deal in the

 

article of Tobacco.

 

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty

of the several Inspectors of the State Warehouses to

 

take care of all unpacked scrap Tobacco, which the

 

owners may neglect or refuse to take away or dispose

 

of, and to hold the same subject to the orders of the

 

States Wharfinger; who is hereby directed to sell the

 

same, and to place the nett proceeds in the hands of

 

the Inspectors for the purpose of defraying in part the

 

expenses of said Warehouse.
