CHAP. 108.

   

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to authorise the

Passed Mar 3,1836

Trustees of the Poor of Kent county, to purchase a

 

farm or tract of land for the use of the Poor, and to

 

sell the present Alms House of said county, and for

 

other purposes, passed at December session, eighteen

 

hundred and twenty-five, chapter one hundred and

 

ninety-one.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Trustees authorised to borrow.

Maryland, That the trustees of the Poor of Kent

county, and their successors in office for the time be-

 

ing, be and they, or a majority of them, are hereby

 

authorised and empowered to borrow, upon the faith of

 

the county, such sum of money as may be necessary to

 

purchase the farm, stock, implements of husbandry,

 

&c. mentioned in the act to which this is a supplement;

 

Provided, the said sum shall not exceed ten thousand

dollars; And provided also, the assent and concurrence

 

of the Levy Court of said county, be first had and ob-

 

tained.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said loan con-

obtained with the assent and concurrence of the said

 

Levy Court of Kent county, then the said Levy Court

 

ef Kent county be, and they are hereby authorised and

 

required to levy upon, and collect from the inhabitants

 

of Kent county, the said sum not exceeding ten thou-

 

sand dollars, borrowed upon the faith of the county as

 

aforesaid, as other charges are levied and collected,

 

and that the same be paid over to said trustees or their

 

order; Pro-vided nevertheless, that a sum not exceeding

the said loan, shall be levied in any one year.

 

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the trustees afore-
