CHAPTER 98.

CHAP. 99.

 

Passed Mar. 18,1836

An act to alter and amend the Constitution and Form of

 

Government of this State, so far as it relates to the

 

representation in the House of Delegates, from the

 

City of Baltimore.

Elect four dele, gates

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That on the first Monday of October,

 

eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, and on the same

 

day annually thereafter, the citizens of Baltimore city,

 

having the necessary qualification of voters under the

 

Constitution, shall vote for and elect four persons as

 

members of the House of Delegates, instead of two, as

 

is now provided for by the Constitution.

Confirmation required

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if this act shall be

 

confirmed by the next General Assembly of Maryland,

 

the same shall thenceforth become a part of the Con-

 

stitution and Form of Government of this State, and

 

all such parts of the existing Constitution as are re-

 

pugnant to, or inconsistent with the provisions of this

 

act, shall be repealed, abrogated and annulled.

 

CHAPTER 99.

Passed Feb, 8 1836

An act to authorise the improvement of an Island therein

 

named.

Preamble

WHEREAS, it appears to this General Assembly that

 

Robert Gale and John Donahoo are owners, by grant

 

from the State of Maryland, of a small tract of land or

 

island containing nearly three acres, called Edmond-

 

son's Island or Shad Battery, situate at or near the

 

mouth of the Susquehanna river, and between three and

 

four miles from the town of Havre de Grace; And

 

whereas, it also appears that the same may be filled up

 

and improved without prejudice to the navigation of

 

the Susquehanna or of the Chesapeake Bay: — There-

 

fore,

May fill up and improve

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

 

That the said Robert Gale and John Donahoo, or their
