CHAP. 94

supplements; ProVided, that at no time shall the said

Repealing clause

SEC. S, And be it enacted, That all such parts of the

 

original act, to which this is a supplement, and the

 

several supplements thereto, as are inconsistent with

 

the provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby

 

repealed.

Navigation reserv-ed

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act

 

shall be so construed, as to give any power to said

 

company to cross the navigable water, by bridging

 

the same.

 

CHAPTER 94.

An act to continue in force and effect, an act, entitled.

 

an act for increasing the width of a part of Light

 

Street, in the city of Baltimore, passed at December

 

session, eighteen hundred and thirty-two, chapter two

 

hundred and fourteen.

Act extended 1 year

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the act passed at December session,

 

eighteen hundred and thirty-two, chapter two hundred

 

and fourteen, be and the same is hereby continued in

 

full force and effect until after the expiration of one

 

year from the first day of April next.

Damages to be paid

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the damages which

 

shall be sustained by any person or persons, by open-

 

ing or widening Light street as aforesaid, shall be paid

 

by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and the

 

several owners of property benefitted thereby, in fair

 

and equal proportions, according to the benefits re-

 

ceived, and if there be different interests or estates in

any property thus benefitted, the damages shall be paid

 

according to the value of the several estates or interests,

 

at such period or periods, and with interest if deemed

 

proper, as said corporation may by ordinance direct,

 

such damages to be collected and levied as taxes of the

 

said corporation are, and as part of such taxes.
