Resolution in favour of Ann Evans, of the State of New
|

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
|
 
|
the register of the Land office of the western shore, be, and
|
 
|
he is hereby directed to issue a patent, in the name of Ann
|
 
|
Evans, of the state of New York, wife of Joseph Evans,
|
 
|
late of Baltimore county, deceased, for the land contained
|
 
|
in a certificate of resurvey, called Limestone Valley, lying
|
 
|
and being partly in Baltimore, and partly in Anne Arundel
|
 
|
counties, and containing two hundred and thirty-three and
|
 
|
three-fourths acres, which was heretofore returned to the
|
 
|
land office, in the name of Joseph Evans, and that the said
|
 
|
patent issue to hold according to the provisions of the last
|
 
|
will and testament of said Joseph Evans, deceased.

Resolution requesting the Senators and Representatives of

this State, in the Congress of the Uniled Mates, to use
|
 
|
their exertions to procure appropriations for the erec-
|
 
|
tion of Light Houses, on Hooper's or Barren Island, in
|
 
|
Dorchester county, and on Sharp's Island, in Talbot
|
 
|
county.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, the establishment of Light-houses at Hoop-
|
 
|
er's or Barren Island, in Dorchester county, and at Sharp's
|
.
|
Island, in Tabot county, have long been objects of desire
|
 
|
to all concerned in the trade and navigation of the Chesa-
|
 
|
apeake Bay; And whereas, it is believed, that the loss of a
|
 
|
large amount of property might have been avoided, and
|
 
|
many valuable lives saved to the country by the timely erec-
|
 
|
tion of the lights, desired on those Islands; And whereas.
|
 
|
the necessary enactments for the cession of territorial ju-
|
 
|
risdiction, and the condemnation of sites have been passed
|
 
|
by this Legislature— Therefore,
|
 
|
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
|
 
|
senators and representatives of this state, in the Congress
|
 
|
of the United States, be requested to use their exertions to
|
 
|
procure appropriations for the erection of Light houses, at
|
 
|
such point or points on Hooper's or Barren Island, in Dor-
|
 
|
Chester county, and at Sharp's Island, in Talbot county, as
|
 
|
may be selected by the proper officers of the government
|
 
|
