CHAP 263.

for the use of the state as hereinbefore provided, over and

 

above the sum now required by law, and the fee allowed to

 

the sheriffs of their respective counties, in all cases where

 

the rate of rent, or annual value of the place or house in

 

which the business to be authorised by the license, may be

 

done or intended to be done, shall exceed five hundred dol-

 

lars, according to the applicants own account or estimate, a

 

sum of money equal to five per centum on the excess of

 

such rent or annual value.

Sec. 4. And. be it enacted, That it shall he the duty

and thing contained in the act, to which this is a supple-

 

ment, contrary to, or inconsistent with the provisions of

 

this act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

An act for the relief of John Lamb, of the city of Baltimore.

Insolvent.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That

 

the commissioners of insolvent debtors, for the city and

 

county of Baltimore, be, and they are hereby authorised

 

and empowered to grant to John Lamb, of the city of Bal-

 

timore, the benefit of the several acts of assembly, passed
