Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the trustees aforesaid, and

their successors shall have power and authority to make,

alter, amend or repeal such by-laws as may he necessary
for the relief, regulation and labour of the poor, and for

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That so soon as the said form
shall have been purchased, and the buildings necessary for

the accommodation of the poor built thereon, the trustees

of the poor, or a majority of them, shall proceed to sell at
|
 
|
public auction, the present poor house of said county, and
|
 
|
the ground attached thereto, on such conditions as they

may think advisable, the proceeds of which sale shall be
|
 
|
applied towards the payment of the purchase of the farm,
|
 
|
directed to be purchased by the first section of this act
|
 
|
Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That so soon as a sale of the
present alms house, shall have been effected, and the pur-

chase money paid or secured to be paid, that then the

trustees, or a majority of them as aforesaid, shall make and
|
 
|
execute a deed or deeds of bargain and sale to the pur-
|
 
|
chaser or purchasers, conveying the same to him, her or

them, in fee simple.

|
Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That the trustees, or a majority

of them as aforesaid, be, and they are hereby authorised

and empowered to provide suitable and necessary imple-

ments of labor, and materials necessary therefor, so as to
|

provide for the employment of those who may be in said
|

alms and work house, and not engaged in the cultivation of
|
 
|
said farm, but may be judged capable of doing effective in-
|
 
|
door labour.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That the trustees aforesaid, or
|

a majority of them, be and they are hereby authorised and

empowered to have and keep any number of out pensioners
|

that they may see proper, Provided, That the amount paid
|
 
|
said out pensioners, shall not exceed the sum of one thousand

dollars in any one year, And provided also, That the said
|
 
|
trustees shall not allow any person an out pension, who is
|
 
|
not a fit subject to he received into the said aims and work
|
 
|
house.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That whoever shall presume
