At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun
and held at the City of Annapolis, on the last Monday of
December, being the twenty -sixth day of said month, in
the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and
thirty-one, and ended the fourteenth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and thirty two.

THE FOLLOWING LAWS WERE ENACTED, TO WIT:

CHAPTER 1.
An act for the benefit of Joseph Wood, former Sheriff of
Calvert county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That Joseph Wood, former sheriff of Calvert coun-
ty, be, and he is hereby authorised to Collect, until the first
day of January, eighteen hundred and thirty three, all fines,
forfeitures, amerciaments, officers fees, or public dues,
which were placed in his hands for collection, and which
have not been collected, in the same manner as he could or
might hare done within the time limited by law.

Sec. 2, And be it enacted, That the said Joseph Wood,
before he proceeds to execute the body or property of any
person or persons for fines, forfeitures, amerciaments, offi-
cers fees, or public dues, by the authority of this act, shall
deliver, or cause to be delivered, to such person or persons,
chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previous to
serving or levying such execution, an amount of the sum de-
manded of him, her, or them, with an affidavit annexed there-
to, that he hath not, nor hath any other person or persons
acting under him, whilst sheriff, nor since, received any part
