CHAP. 162

president aad directors refuse to call such meeting, the taid
number of stockholders, proprietors of not less than seven
hundred and fifty shares, shall have power to call such
general meeting, giving at least two weeks notice in the said
newspapers, and specifying in the notice the particular ob-
ject or objects of the meeting.

Case of omitting
eletions.

Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That if for any cause what-
soever, ft should so happen that the annual elections herein
before required to take place, shall not be held in any year,
on the day hereinbefore designated for that purpose, this
corporation, shall not, for that reason be dissolved but such
election may be lawfully held on such convenient day
thereafter as may be fixed on by the president and directors,
they causing ten days public notice tbereoi to be given in
one or more of the newspapers of the city of Frederick.

Limit.

Sec. 20. And be it enacted, That this act shall be and
continue in force until the year eighteen hundred and fifty
two, and until the end of the next general assembly which
shall take place thereafter.

 

CHAPTER 161.

Passed Mar. 1,1833

An act to authorise the Levy Court of Montgomery county to
levy a sum of money for the purposes therein mentioned.

Levy authorised.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the judges of the levy court of Montgomery county, if, in
their opinion it shall be deemed just and necessary, be, and
they are hereby authorised and empowered to levy on the
assessable property of said county, a sum not exceeding one
thousand dollars, in addition to the sum already levied, for
the purpose of defraying the expenses of rebuilding abridge
over Seneca Creek, near Clement Smith's mill, in said
county.

 

CHAPTER 162.

Passed Mar. 1, 1832

An act to authorise and empower the Justices of the Levy
Court of Prince George's county, to sell and convey the Lot
of Ground therein mentioned.

Authority grated.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
