until the first day of July, eighteen hundred and thirty three,
all taxes or public dues which were placed in his hands for
collection, and which have not been collected, in the same
manner as he could or might have done within the time
limited by law.

CHAP. 142.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the said Marcey Fountain,
before he proceeds to execute the property of any person
or persons, for said taxes, or public dues, with the interest
thereon, by the authority of this act, shall deliver or cause
to be delivered, to such person chargeable with the same,
or leave at his or her last place of abode, a particular ac-
count of the species and amount of property with which
such person is assessed, the rate of tax imposed thereon, and
the amount of such tax, with an affidavit annexed thereto,
that he hath not, nor has any person for his use, received
any part thereof, or satisfaction for the same, to the best of

his knowledge; Provided, That no lands and tenements,
whichfhave been sold, shall, in any manner, or the tenants
occupying the same, be answerable or liable for taxes as-
sessed previous to said sale or transfer.

CHAPTER 142.

 

An act to revive and amend an act, entitled, An act to incor-
porate the Village of Federalsburgh, in Dorchester and Ca-
roline counties, passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-three, chapter one hundred and seventy-
four.

Passed Feb.27, 1832

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the act entitled An act to incorporate the vil-
age of Federalsburgh, in Dorchester and Caroline coun-
ties, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-three, be, and hereby is revived and declared to be
in full force, except so much thereof as may be inconsistent
with the provisions of this act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the limits of said village
of Federalsburgh, shall extend one half of a mile from the
centre of the, bridge, in said village into each of the counties
aforesaid.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That all free white
male citizens of the age of twenty one years and upwards,
and who shall have resided in the said village for and during
the six months next preceding the first Monday of April
next, may assemble at the house of Charles Connely, in
