CHAPTER 109.

Passed Feb 13, 1832

An act to incorporate the Trustees of the Valley School
House in Frederick county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Daniel Smith, of Frederick county, by in-
denture bearing date the tenth day of November, eighteen
hundred, conveyed two acres of land, parts of tracts of
lands called "The resurvey on Mount Olivet," "Sweet
Land," and "The Tied Dog," in said county, to Frederick
Eyler and Andrew Williams, as trustees in trust, for the pur-
pose of erecting thereon, a house, to be occupied as a
school house; And whereas, The said trustees, and a num-
ber of other inhabitants of Frederick county in the neigh-
borhood of the said lot of land, have subscribed and paid
divers sums of money, with which a house has been erect-
ed on the said lot, for the purposes aforesaid, and the said
trustees having since died, a number of the said inhabitants
having therefore petitioned this General Assembly to in-
corporate Charles Williar, Jacob Williar and Peter
McClain, as trustees for the purpose of taking charge of
and preserving the said house and lot, for the uses men-
tioned in the said deed.

Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said Charles Williar, Jacob Williar,
and Peter McLean and all other persons who have sub-
scribed and paid, or who shall subscribe and pay any sum
of money to aid in the preservation or repair of the said
house erected on the land conveyed in trust as above reci-
ted, or shall aid in the erecting of an additional house on said
lot for the purposes aforesaid, shall be, and they are hereby

incorporated by the name and title of the Trustees of the
Vally School House in Frederick county; and by that name
shall have succession and be liable and capable at law and
in equity, to sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded, in
any court of law or equity of this State, and that it shall and
may be lawful to and for the said Charles Williar, Jacob
Williar, and Peter McClain, trustees as aforesaid, and their
successors, to make, use and have a common seal, and the
same to break, alter and renew at their pleasure, and to
make, alter and repeal rules and by-laws for the good go-
vernment of the said school house or association, and exer-
