1831.

Baltimore city court, and Baltimore county court, to Anne
Arundel county court, and tried, it may be lawful for Anne
Arundel county court, to allow to the Attorney General, or
his Deputy, in addition to the sum now allowed by law,
such compensation as said court may deem just and proper,
to be levied and collected as other fees.

CHAPTER 101.

 

An Act appointing Commissioners to build a bridge over the
Little Falls of Gunpowder, in Harford and Baltimore
counties.

Passed Feb.24,1823

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That it shall be lawful for the commissioners of
Harford and Baltimore counties, and they are hereby autho-
rised and required, to levy and cause to be collected, before
the year eighteen hundred and thirty four, upon the assessa-
ble property of said counties, a sum of money not exceed-
ing four hundred dollars on each county, for the purpose of
erecting a bridge across the Little Gunpowder Falls, at the
Rock Ford, and that Mahlon H. West and Benjamin S.

Levy directed.

Amos, of Harford county, and Samuel Watkins, of Balti-
more county, are hereby appointed commissioners to fix
upon a site, and superintend the erecting the same, at or
near the aforesaid Rock Ford, and that they also contract
with some person or persons for erecting of said bridge,
who shall give bond and securities to the commissioners of
said counties, for building the same in a good and substantial

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the money hereby re-
quired to be levied, shall be made payable to the commis-
sioners herein named, and shall be by them accounted for
to the commissioners of their respective counties.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the commissioners here-
by appointed shall be entitled to a reasonable compensation
for their services and attending to the erecting said bridge,
to be paid jointly by the respective counties therein men-
tioned, in equal proportions.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the assent of the Presi-
dent and Directors of the Baltimore and Harford turnpike
company shall first be given in writing, to the commission-
ers herein named, which assent shall be in conformity to the
terms hereafter provided for, and shall be by said commis-
sioners filed in the commissioners office of their respective
counties.
