1831.

hereby directed and required, to make the levy mentioned
in said original act; Provided, That nothing herein contain-
ed, shall authorise or require the commissioners of said
county, to levy more than half the sum required to build
said bridge, in any one year, and the said commissioners,
shall make the first levy of four hundred dollars, within the
year eighteen hundred and thirty -two, and the remaining levy
of four hundred dollars, in the year eighteen hundred and
thirty -three.

CHAPTER 93.

 

An act for the relief of James Williams, junior, of the city
of Baltimore.

Passed Feb. 14,1832

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners of Insolvent Debtors for the city and
county of Baltimore, be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered to grant to James Williams, junior, of the city
of Baltimore, the benefit of the several acts of assembly

passed for the relief of Insolvent Debtors; Provided, the
said Williams shall in all respects (except that of proving
residence) comply with the requisitions of said acts of as-
sembly, and that he satisfy said commissioners, that he did
not come into this state with the view of obtaining the bene-
fit of the said Insolvent Laws.

Proviso.

CHAPTER 94.

 

A supplement to the act, entitled, An act to incorporate com-
panies to make several Turnpike Roads through Balti-
more county, and for other purposes, passed on the twelfth
day of January, eighteen hundred and five, chapter fifty-
one.

Passed Feb. 14 1832

WHEREAS, by the twenty-seventh section of the above
mentioned act, provision is made for imposing a fine not ex-
ceeding ten dollars, on any person or persons who may evade
any of the toll gates erected on any of the turnpike roads
constructed by virtue of said act; which fine may be recov-
ered before any justice of the peace, in like manner as debts
of a similar amount may be sued for and recovered; And
whereas, no provision is made by said act for granting an
