CHAP 83.
Contract for
building.

LAWS OF MARYLAND.
hereby authorised, at the ensuing assessment, to levy upon
the assessable property of said county, a further sum of
five hundred dollars, if in their judgment it shall be deem-
ed necessary, for the purpose of building said offices.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
heretofore appointed under the act to which this is a sup-
plement, be and they are hereby authorised, to make a con-
tract or contracts with different persons, as well upon the
entire building the said offices, as upon the different parts
or portions of the same; and the said commissioners are
hereby further authorised to direct and superintend the
erection of said buildings, upon such terms and conditions
as they may deem most advantageous, and conformable to
the purposes of the law to which this is a supplement.

 
 

CHAPTER 82.

An Act to continue in force the Acts of Assembly which
would expire with the present Session.

fie it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all such acts, or parts of acts, as would expire with
the present session of assembly, be and the same are here-
by continued to the last Monday of December next, and
to the end of the then session of assembly.

 
 

CHAPTER 83.

Passed Feb. 9.

A Supplement to the art, entitled, An act to alter and
change the Name of Elizabeth-Town, in Washington
County, to Hagers- Town, and to incorporate the
same.

Part of Act re-
pealed.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That so much of the original act to which this
is a supplement, as requires the voters of said town, voting
for town officers, to be persons paying tax in said town,
be and the same is hereby repealed.

All free white
males entitled
to rote.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all free white male ci-
tizens of Hager's Town aforesaid, of the age of twenty-
one years, or upwards, having resided within the state of
