CHAP. 180.

conveyed by Samuel Ringgold, late of Washington county,
now deceased, to Samuel Ringgold, junior, and Isaac L.
Swearingen, and their heirs, to be held by them in trust
after the death of the said Samuel Ringgold, since deceas-
ed, for the use and benefit of Maria Antoinette Ringgold,
then the wife, now the widow and relict, of the said Sa-
muel Ringgold, deceased, during her lifetime, and after her
death, for her children by the said Samuel Ringgold, her
then husband, since deceased, and the heirs of the said
children: And whereas, it is deemed and considered that
it will be highly advantageous to the said Maria Antoi-
nette Ringgold, and to the said children, that the said land
be sold, and the proceeds arising from the sale thereof to be
applied to the benefit of the said Maria Antoinette King-
gold, and of the said children, as hereinafter directed;
Therefore,

Commissioners
to make sale
of land.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William Price, David Clagett, and Isaac
S. Swcarengin, all of the county of Washington, be and
they are hereby nominated, constituted and appointed,
commissioners for making sale of the tract of land herein
before mentioned, and that they be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered, to make sale of the said tract
of land, or of any part thereof, and to convey, by deed or
deeds, to he executed and acknowledged in due form of
Jaw, to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, a title in fee
simple to the said tract of land, or to so much thereof as
may be conveyed, and to deliver to the said purchaser or
purchasers the possession of the same; and it is hereby
enacted and declared, that upon the execution and ac-
knowledgment as aforesaid, of the deed or deeds as afore-
said, that all the right, title, interest, claim and demand,
either in law or in equity, or otherwise, of the herein be-
fore mentioned Samuel Ringgold, junior, and Isaac S.
Swearengen, and of the heirs of Maria Antoinette Ring:
gold aforesaid, and of the children of the said Samuel
Ringgold now deceased, by his said wife Maria Antoinette
Ringgold; that is to say, of George Hay Ringgold, of Vir-
ginia Ringgold, of Rebecca Broadnax Ringgold, and of
Lafayette Monroe Ringgold, and of their and each of their
heirs, be and the same is hereby enacted and declared to
be and become vested in the purchaser or purchasers men-
tioned, as grantee or grantees, or intended so to be in the
deed or deeds executed and acknowledged as herein before
mentioned, for the quantity of the said tract of land in the
said deed or deeds mentioned and intended to be convey-
ed; and it is hereby further enacted and declared, that the
said Samuel Ringgold, junior, and Isaac S. Swearengen,
