CHAPTER 147.
An Act to authorise the recording of a Deed thereto
mentioned.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, that
a certain Alfred Aldridge, of Anne-Arundel county, on
the nineteenth day of February, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-nine, did make and execute a deed,
whereby he conveyed certain lands therein mentioned, and
particularly described, to a certain Wilson Benditt, of Bal-
timore county, and hath been paid therefor: And whereas
the said deed was duly acknowledged before two justices
of the peace of Anne-Arundel county, one of whom retain-
ed the said deed, ir. order that it might be prepared for re-
cord in the county where the lands lie, by obtaining a cer-
tificate of the clerk of Anne-Arundel county, that the per-
son, so taking the acknowledgment, were justices of the
peace, but through ignorance or mistake caused the same
to be recorded among the land records of Anne-Arundel
County court, whereby inconvenience has been sustained,
and expenses would he incurred by the ordinary mode of
proceeding in such cases, not justified by the value of the
property, and the same is owing to error of one of the offi-
cers of this state, Therefore,

Deed may be
recorded.

fie it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the clerk of Baltimore county court be, and he is
hereby authorised, empowered and directed, to receive and
record the deed aforesaid, among the lands records of Balti-
more county court, which said deed, when so received and
recorded, shall have the same force, validity and effect, that
it would have had, had the same been duly recorded among
said records within the time prescribed by law for the re-
cording of deeds.

the President and Directors of the Baltimore Water
Company, passed at November Session 1808, chap-
ter 79.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
