CHAPTER 140.
An Act to reduce the rate of Inspection of Fish in the
City oj Baltimore.

1830.
CHAP. 141.
Passed Feb 22

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the first day of May next,
it shall he the duty of the inspectors of fish in the city of
Baltimore, or either of them, to brand each and every bar-
rel, half barrel or tierce of herrings shad or mackerel fish,
that he, or they, rnay hereafter inspect, with the word

spectors.

"Spring;" Provided, that he or they may believe that the said
mackerel fish was caught in the spring of the year in which
the same may he by him or them inspected.

Proviso

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful
for any inspector of fish in the city of Baltimore, to charge,
or in anywise receive for inspecting of each and every bar-
rel, half-barrel or tierce of shad or mackerel fish, ten cents;
for each and every barrel, half barrel or tierce of herrings,
three cents, and no more.

Allowance.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That if any one or more
of the inspectors of fish shall violate the provisions of this
act, the same shall be liable to indictment in Baltimore city
court, and on conviction shall, for every such offence, for-
feit and pay the sum of fifty dollars, the one half to he for
the use of the informer, and the other half for the use of the
state.

Penalty for vi-
olation of act.

Sec 4. And be it enacted, That any act, or the part of
any act, inconsistent with, or repugnant to, this act, be and
the game is hereby repealed.

Repeal.

An Act for the benefit of Asahel Hussey, and others.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the guardians of James H. M' Henry,
and John E. Howard, junior, shall be, and they are hereby
severally and respectively authorised and empowered, in
the name and on the behalf of their respective wards, to
make, execute, acknowledge, deliver, and cause to be re-
corded, in due form of law, such deed or deeds and con-
veyances as shall be necessary to convey, release or trans-
fer, in exchange, certain lots of ground in the city of Bal-
