CHAPTER 111.
An Act to make valid a certain Deed of Trust therein,
mentioned.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assem-
bly by the petition of sundry citizens of the first election
district of Kent county, that certain Thomas Walker, and
his wife, and Eliza M. Morean, did sometime in the year
eighteen hundred and thirty, make, execute and acknow-
ledge, a deed of trust for a lot of land to certain trustees of
the Wesleyan Chapel, in the district and county aforesaid,
which deed of trust was executed before John Hurtt and
Albert G. Miller, esquires, justices of the peace for said
county: And whereas it has since been ascertained that the
said John Hurtt was not legally in office as justice of the
peace at the time of the acknowledgment of said deed, and
therefore great doubts have arisen as to the validity of said
deed of trust ; Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said deed of trust executed by the said Thomas
Walker and wife, and Eliza M. Morean, in the year eigh-
teen hundred and thirty, be, and the same is hereby de-
clared to he, as valid and effectual, to all intents and pur-
poses, as if the said John Hurtt had been, at the lime of
executing and acknowledging said deed, a regularly ap-
pointed, and commissioned, and qualified justice of the
peace for Kent county.
