the Senate on the House bill entitled an Act to add certain
sub-sections to Article XIX. of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Somerset County," under sub-title "Licenses,"
and to repeal section 138 of said Article, entitled "Somerset
County," under sub-title "Retailers," the undersigned res-
pectfully report, that the Joint Committee have had under
consideration the subject referred to, and they recommend
that the Senate reconsider the vote by which the bill was lost,
and further recommend the passage of the bill, with the fol-
lowing amendments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Sub-section 1, line 7, after the words "number eight,"
insert the words : "Fairmount District, number six, Crisfield
District, number seven, Dames' Quarter District, number
two, and Hungary District, number five."

Strike out sub-section 3, and insert the following in lieu
thereof: "If, at said election, as named in the preceding sec-
tion, a majority of the voters in cither of said Election Dis-
tricts hereinbefore mentioned shall be "against license," then
the provisions of this Act shall continue in force in said dis-
trict, and no licen.se shall be granted therein to sell or other-
wise dispose of any vinous, malt, spirituous or intoxicating
liquors, as provided against in the first sub-section thereof;
but if a majority of the voters of either of said districts shall
be "for license," then license may be granted to sell spiritu-
ous liquors in the same manner as now allowed by law, but
the vote in either of said districts shall not control in any
manner the provisions of this Act in any other district here-
in mentioned, or in Somerset county, than that in which it
is cast, but the said vote of either of said districts shall apply
to and control only the district in which it is cast."

Sub-section 2, line 3, strike out all after 3, word "four,"
to the words "the Judges," in the fourth line.

At the end of sub-section 4, add the words, "cider, beer or
home-made wines."

Strike out all of sub-section 5.
