River and its tributaries within the limits of Frederick
county, and to re-enact said section 1, with amendments."
On motion by Mr. Billingsley,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars, to
aid in erecting a suitable Monument, at Point Lookout, St.
Mary's county, in memory of the confederate dead.
Mr. Brattan, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill entitled "An Act to add a new section to
Article XXX. of the Code of Public General Laws of the
State of Maryland, to succeed section 144, so as to prevent
the public execution of the death penalty."
Which was read the first time.
Senate bill entitled "An Act to release the estate and pro-
perty real, personal and mixed divised and bequeathed to the
Johns Hopkins Hospital, from the tax on the clear value
thereof, commonly known and designated as the tax on col-
lateral inheritances, distibutive shares and legacies;"
Being on second reading,
Mr. Fields moved to postpone further consideration there-
of, and that it be made the order of the day for 1 o'clock to-
morrow.
Which was adopted.

titled an Act to incorporate the Worcester County Rail Road
Company, passed at January Session, 1853, with amendments
enacted on the 18th of March, 1867, and to repeal section 18,
of said Act or any other part of said Act inconsistent with
this Act,"
