that there were or might be to the amount of $7,500, claims
of parties furnishing supplies to the College Commons during
the superintendence of Dr. Nelson, yet unpaid, which the.
Board assumed to pay, which thus, whatever be the exact
amount -within the above limit of $7,500, constitutes a debt
of the College, and for the payment of which, the Board pro-
posed to provide by negotiating a loan, and securing it by
mortgage on the real estate of the College. This indebted-
ness I omitted to state in. my former communication.

We propose, with your concurrence, that the Judiciary
Commitee of this House meet the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings of the Senate in joint session at 5 o'clock, P. M.
to-day.

vered the following Senate bills :

The Senate bill in relation to taking the census of Garrett
county.

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."

The Senate bill appropriating a sum of money to provide
for the interment of the Confederate dead at Point Lookout.

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."

The Senate bill authorizing the sale of certain property in
Baltimore city, belonging to the Society of Friends.

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."

The Senate bill regulating fences in Garrett county.

Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."

The Senate bill authorizing the Governor to appoint a
Notary Pubic, in Garrett county.
Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays."
