Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of the estate
of James Spicer and the sureties of his bond, as tax collector,
for the years 1850 and 1851,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. Tuck moved to make the House bill relating to the
City Passenger Railway bill, the special order for 2 o'clock,
this day.

Mr. Williams submitted the following message to the House
of Delegates:

BY THE SENATE,

March 31st, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We respectfully request the appointment of a Committee
of Conference, consisting of two on the part of the Senate
and three on the part of the House, on the bill relating to
Building Societies and Land Companies, and we name on the
part of the Senate, Messrs. Williams and Blake,

By order,

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,
Secretary.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of
Delegates.

The House bill entitled an Act to provide for the taxation,
of dogs, in Montgomery and Washington counties,

Being on third reading,

Mr. Brewer submitted the following amendments :

Section 1, line 1, strike out word "Washington," and wher-
ever it appears in the bill.

Line 3, after the word "every," strike out the word "male"
and insert "dog," and wherever it may be in this bill, and
in same line, after the word "every," at the end of said line,
