mittee on Corporations.

Also,

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 94, 95 and
96 of Article XXVII. Public Local Laws, entitled Washing-
ton county, and relating to fences.

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Claggett, Phelps and Crawford.

Also, returned

The Senate bill entitled an Act to empower N. J. Horsey,
Vincent Moore and S. J. Turpin, of Wicomico county, to
cut a ditch or canal through the marsh from Quantico Creek
to Nanticoke River, in said county,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 30th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message announcing your refusal
to recede from your amendments to the House bill entitled
an Act to repeal section 193 of Article III. of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore county, passed at the Jan-
uary Session, 1872, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and asking the appointment of a Committee of Con-
ference upon the same, and concur therein, and name on the
part of this House, Messrs. Keech, Merryman and Banks.

Chief Clerk.

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the taxation of dogs, in
the State of Maryland,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Phelps submitted the following amendment:

"That Dorchester county be exempt from the operations of

this Act,"

Mr. Steiner submitted the following amendment to the
amendment;

"And all cities, towns or boroughs i which dogs are taxed
by municipal ordinance."

Which was adopted.
