Mr. Fields submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

March 30th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to the
Senate for further consideration, the bill entitled au Act to
repeal Article LXXXI. of the Code of Public General Laws
of the State of Maryland, entitled "Revenue and Taxes,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Del-
egates.

Mr. Davis submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

March 26th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We received your message requesting the Senate to recede
from the amendments proposed to the bill entitled an Act to re-
peal section 193 of Article III. of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Baltimore county, passed at January Session, 1872, and
to re-enact the same with amendments; and we respectfully
adhere to the amendment proposed by the Senate, and ask
for the appointment of a Committee of Conference, and name
upon the part of the Senate, Messrs. Davis and Aydelott.

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Dele-
gates.

Mr. Brattan moved to reconsider the vote by which the
House bill entitled an Act to add certain sub-sections to Art-
icle XIX. of the Code of Public Local Laws of Somerset
county, relating to Licenses to Retailers, which failed to be
adopted for the unfavorable report on Saturday last, and that
it be put upon its final passage.

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then read the third time and failed to pass for
want of a constitutional majority, by yeas and nays as fol-
lows :
