Mr. Williams submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

March 28th, 1874.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message asking the return of a bill
which passed your Honorable Body, entitled an Act to repeal
sections C and 13 of the Act passed at the January Session,
1872, chapter 244, entitled an Act to authorize the appoint-
ment of Weighers of Grain, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, and herewith return the same.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported favor-
ably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent any officer,
State, County or Municipal, from using funds entrusted to
his care and keeping, for his own benefit or for any other
purpose than that to which they are intended to be applied.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

The Senate bill to refund to Peter W. Crain, a sum of
money.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the taxation
of the property of Rail Road Companies in this State, for
County and Municipal purposes.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to pay to James S. Frank-
lin, Clerk of the Court of Appeals, a sum of money for lees
due him by the State.
